Overall Personal Threat: Moderate to High in areas
Threat Register: Moderate
Addendum:
Ord Mantell is an ancient Republic-era colony world, settled 12,000 years before the Galactic Civil War. It is located on a planet with two continents, one covered with very dense jungles, and the other with plains and large inland seas. It was originally founded as a Republic Military supply base and Listening post. The northern continent is where Ord Mantell Freeport is located, cut out of the dense surrounding jungles. Along the coast, roughly 500km from the Freeport, lay several large blinking, flashing complexes of Casinos. Further inland from the Freeport lay the ruins of ancient industrial complexes, smelters, scrap heaps, and a persistent brown haze from burning fossil fuels. This is an industrial wasteland populated by rouge assassin droids and other creatures better off not disturbing.
Personal Notes:
Ord Mantell Freeport is the only spaceport facility on Ord Mantell. It is located inland roughly 500km from the coastal casino strip. Bureaucracy is stagnant and corrupt—don’t expect results if you get caught in the web of red tape. There is a high-speed elevated train that connects the Freeport facility with the Casinos on the coast.
Ord Mantell Freeport is made up of two districts: the Historic District, and the Modern District. The Historic district is where the original port was founded, and it is where the wealthy and important people live. The Modern district is located outside of the original walls of the fort. Here is where live is lived on the fringe.
Areas of Note:
Imperial Garrison Headquarters:
Garrison includes: 8 StormTroopers, 300 army personnel, 3 chariot command speeders, LAV platoon, 2 Lambda-class shuttles. Led by Imperial Commander Frel. They are not responsible for the public’s safety; they are not police in any way. They are here to insure the continued operation of the ComNet Complex. Imperial Regulations do not let air traffic anywhere within ˝ Kilometer of the ComNet facility.
ComNet Communications Complex: “We Monitor the Galaxy”
This is a huge complex of listening posts, sensor dishes, and computer databases. It is made up by a series of several, very large buildings, built up on what was the original Republic-era listening post. ComNet is a very pro-Imperial company with several prominent Imperial advisors on their board of governors. The buildings are all topped with huge setups of dishes and antennas. ComNet monitors this part of the galaxies communications for the Empire. ComNet employs its own, very nasty private security force, in addition to the Imperial Security presence. There are several layers of very intense security precautions set up insure the continued influx of data for the Empire.
Blockhouse:
This is the first military barracks building from the original founding. Currently it is the oldest structure still standing on Ord Mantell. It has been turned into the local police building/jailhouse. F.S.F.---Freeport Security Force, carries no Imperial ties at all. They are a capable force used to dealing with the fringe side of the galaxy. Their constant dealings with criminals and smugglers, has turned them into a very tight security team. There are roughly 150 officers on street duty, 25 roving security droids, and 12 officers on speeder bike for air patrol.
Last Stand Casino:
Mortimon Galli—owner. Located on the Coastal Strip area. Dim red lantern style lights, old wooden chairs, and holo-stills of classic movies on the walls all give the Last Stand Casino a Antiquated Pre-Imperial appearance showing a romanticized, earlier era. Lots of Sabbacc tables. A great old-time gambling droid named MAC. No fighting what so ever is allowed inside the casino. Mortimon Galli is a retired “fortune-hunter”, think Indiana Jones. He will gladly buy relics from the Early Republic Era to add to the look of the Casino. Great contact for those fortune hunters out there looking for the next great discovery.
Pandor’s Hydrospanner:
Part of a chain of very successful Repair/Parts shops located across the galaxy. They are ALWAYS run by droids. Thousands and thousands of small parts are available. Row after row of small bins labeled in binary can be seen behind the counter. Generally guarded by several very nasty guard droids. The store will odd or special parts if they need them for their inventory. The store has an install service available, but they will install “legal” modifications or parts only. While doing any sort of work, they will do a casual inspection to make sure that nothing illegal is going on with the item in question. If there is some question, they will report it to a local Imperial Official. DEE-THREE-P-EIGHT [D3-P8] is the owner operator of this branch. He is a silvered CPO Droid.
Docking Bay 63:
Standard docking bay on Ord Mantell. Run by a slightly crazy Sullustan Mechanic named Grom Golum. He is a very friendly guy who likes to see return customers. Grom is quite good at repairs and small modifications. However, if left too long with a ship he has been known to replace parts with some of his “special” parts that he thinks would work better. He can be seen talking to the ships left in his care, asking them about their journeys.
Leezoth’s Antiquities and Fine Imports:
Located in a very high crime area in the modern district, you would think this shop gets robbed a lot, wrong thanks to a huge alien named Lunk. Lunk provides all the protection the shop could need. The shop is filled with all kinds of “junk”. A careful search could turn up something very old but still useful. Leezoth is always interested in acquiring pre-Imperial stuff, and he will pay good money for it.
Sliteye’s Entertainment Emporium:
This old warehouse now has a glitzy, imposing façade. This club’s style is based on an outdated Coruscant Entertainment Center. It features several gravity-adjustable dance floors, upper level balconies with private, out of the way booths, and huge pounding speakers, pouring forth the galaxies hottest hits. Sometimes can get a little rough in here. Sliteye’s maintains several huge well stocked bar, serviced well-maintained mixcologist droids. The club seems to be owned by a mysterious cloaked figure with lots of bodyguards.
Ord Mantell Freeport Medical Services:
This well stocked medical facility can handle everything from simple MedPaks to full service Bacta Tank treatments. Freeport Security Forces will be notified automatically whenever a character with a serious or suspicious injury is admitted to the Medical Facility.
The Atrium:
This is Ord Mantell’s beautiful public gathering area. It is inside a huge reinforced triangular glass enclosure. It has almost become a famous Inter-Galactic Zoo. It supports colonies of rare hoverbeaks from Rynmar, Redcrested Aviar Swoopers from Entralla, Cappabellor Beatles from Malador, and Tatooine Cloud Flies. It has become a true wonder of the galaxy at this point. There are always local entertainers, plenty of benches, and food peddlers. This has become a favorite place for clandestine meetings.
Jazzemina’s Engine Repair Lot:
Run by a former Twilek dancer turned outlaw tech. If given the time and money this incredibly attractive Twilek female can put any engine back together better then new. She also has access to a fair amount of “specialized” replacement parts. She has slight ties to the Rebellion.
The Amazing Ran’ doo:
This strange individual has a outfitters style shop that he runs from an alleyway in the last savory area of the Modern district. He sells a lot of “used” equipment to unknowing offworlders. He will arrange hunting trips into the barren rocky backcountry of the southern continent. His favorite prey is the hulking Mantellian Savrip [standard piece in HoloChest]. These Savrip-tracking expeditions make for a formidable quarry for even the most seasoned hunter.
